Card(s) of the Week #69 ---- Let's all play solitaire
So, remember this guy?
remember how it was darn difficult to get 5 warriors on the field in one turn? well fear no more. with the introduction of pendulum summoning, it couldn't be simpler.
Debuting in Clash of Rebellions is the igknight archetype, consisting of fire warrior normal pendulum monsters. Ranging from level 3 to 6.
They all have the pendulum effect:
If you have an "Igknight" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy all cards in your Pendulum Zones, and if you do, add 1 FIRE Warrior-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
a natural -1. not too strong. But combined with this card
So if you summon key beetle and target one of the pendulum cards, only one igknight card will be destroyed. Since igknights have the same wording as masked hero acid, we can assume they have the same ruling where under the circumstance that both pendulum cards can't be destroyed, you get the search if at least one is destroyed.
This means that you can keep destroying and searching to build up to 16 pendulums in your extra deck, then pendulum and Xyz into pretty much anything you want without losing a single card advantage.
And for the cherry on top, 2 out of the 6 igknight monsters are level 2. which means you can have 6 level 4 warrior pendulums in a single deck.
So if you manage to pull this combo off, you are guaranteed to summon number 86 with at least 4 materials.
But how easy is it to summon number 66. Well, two cards: armageddon knight and blackwing zephyros. since reinforcement of the army is unlimited now, getting turn one armageddon knight along with any two igknight pendulums on the first turn is extremely easy (especially since we can run 18 pendulums along with 3 rota and 3 summoner's art in one deck).
If you think 3 arma knight + 3 rota is not enough, you can adding in 2 summoner monks as well for extra consistency.
With the consistent turn 1 beetle->number 86, the opponent will not be able to destroy either monster in their next turn and is unable to summon. This will pretty much mean game during the next turn.
If you think that is retarded, just wait for another beetle combo.
Since pendulums are counted as spell cards, you can combine this combo with royal magical library to draw your entire deck. this opens up countless burn ftks and exodia decks.
So yeah, pendulums are definitely NOT op.....
