Card(s) of the Week #66 ---- A Substitute for the Original

Today I've decided to carry on Tim's series with my first deck review, having been play-testing a monster type that no one really cares about, that is until 16th Jan next year (yes I am looking at you Necloths).
Necloths are an archetype of monsters about to be released in Secrets of Eternity, who focus on generating +s thru, yes, Ritual Summons. Their main monsters are based off previous DT aces (hence the title). Here they are:



Brionac is back guys! This is the monster searcher of the deck that also acts as a once-per-turn CED, that means bye bye annoying monsters like Beelze/Dracossack/No.101 etc. You would use this card for the same reason you use Madolche Queen and Fire Fist Cardinal.

Next Up:



While Brionac searches monsters, this one searches your S/T (mainly Exomirror and Kaleidomirror). Opponent has 4000+ attack monster? No problem, this card instantly transforms it into Arcana Force 0, without its effect.

And Then:



And Trishula is revived, albeit a slightly less powerful, but more versatile version (this one needs all 3 places to have cards in order to banish them, whereas the original didn't). 2700 ATK isn't too shabby, and a monster version of Fire Formation Tenken is nice as well.

And now for their Ritual Spells:



At first glance, the 'Levels equal to' condition may seem hard to meet, but notice how Trishula is Lv.9, and Brionac/Clausolas are Lv.6 & 3? Still think that's too conditional?

Then take a look at this:



Yes, they even have a card that can be used to Ritual Summon ANY of their aces. Not only that, Schritt's search effect even turns that Ritual Summon into a minus 0! Not bad......

Their other Ritual Spell:

At first glance, this + Schritt is just another way of summoning your aces, but wait, notice how you can send monsters from your 'Extra Deck' as ritual materials? That means send Goyo -> summon Brionac; send Mist Valley Clausolas -> summon Nekroz Clausolas; send Shooting Star Dragon -> summon Nekroz Decisive Armor. Oh yeah, there's also send Herald of Arc Light -> summon Nekroz Unicore -> search for just about ANY Nekroz with Herald's eff.
And the fun doesn't stop there. Notice how Kaleidomirror can summon ANY NUMBER of Nekroz Rituals? Yeah, you guessed it, you can send Shooting Star Dragon -> summon Brionac + Unicore, or send Shooting Quasar Dragon -> summon Trishula + Clausolas.
This opens up one of the best Combos of the deck: send Shooting Quasar Dragon -> summon 2x Brionac (not hard with the deck's searching abilities) -> overlay for Inzektor Exa-Beetle -> equip Quasar from grave -> detach material to destroy Quasar & an opponent's face-up card -> summon Shooting Star by Quasar's eff. Wow! (If you're wondering why you would leave yourself a 1000 ATK Exa-Beetle on the field? Gaia Dragon says hi)
As if all this wasn't enough, both Rituals allow you to search for another Ritual when you need to, and techs like Djinn Releaser of Rituals can seal off your opponent's Special Summons. Now that's something to look forward to next month!
